Key Enabling Technologies

In this section, you can learn more about key enabling technologies and what different groups or categories they can be divided into.

WHAT ARE KEY ENABLING TECHNOLOGIES

Key enabling technologies are knowledge-intensive technologies that have been identified as drivers of innovation in different economic sectors and which could potentially cause considerable disruptions in the economy and society in the next 10-15 years, according to international technology foresight studies.

They are characterized by a high degree of R&D (in science, technology and engineering), rapid innovation cycles, large amounts of capital investment (infrastructure, equipment and R&D personnel) and by combining physical and digital innovation.

See the article “Qué son las Tecnologías Habilitadoras” (“What are key enabling technologies”, available in Spanish) on our blog to learn more about the applications and benefits of these technologies as well as their current status in the Valencian Community and Inndromeda’s role in their development.
